4 Weeks Or A Month?

Quick question. Is a baby a month old on the 4th week of their birth date or the date of the next month after they were born? I can juggle a lot of things, like running a house, a business and mounds of laundry— but my brain is too fried for this question. What’s your take? When am I supposed to post his first monthly picture? This Saturday (week 4 since birth)? Or on the actual 22nd?

Discovering Evivo: My Veteran Second Time Mama Choice

When I became a mama, I had no idea just how many things I was going to have to learn. All the decisions we have to make as parents seem daunting at first. Some are trivial— like diaper bags, nursery decor or sweet little baby shoes. Some, are much more important decisions. Decisions that require us to research, ask questions, discuss options. For me & Thomas, choosing a probiotic for Elijah was a lot like that.

We didn’t know anything about baby gut health with Sebastian. Thanks to my amazing mom friends, I now know it’s one those things we did needed to look into!

The Whole Me.

Today I was thinking about it means to be a “𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘦”. A woman not defined just by my words or my actions, not defined by motherhood or marriage, by wife duties, university degrees or crushing pregnancy losses. A woman who feels pain, and so much happiness, daughter of divorce, an immigrant, person of color. An entrepreneur, a writer, a friend. A cesarean mom, a breast feeding mom, formula mom, an enneagram 8, an activist, a dog mom. A screamer, a goal digger, a damn hard worker. ⁣ ⁣

This little curly-headed fu** is cutting molars (I like to refer to them as vampire fangs in the back). It’s been a delicate balance of keeping our patience, and not wanting to run away but also loving the sweet snuggles (when they are wanted). ⁣ ⁣
