A Summer Spent With Charlie Banana

Summer lives on, baby!

Can you believe we are already talking pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather? NOO! I am not ready! Thankfully, here on the Georgia Coast, summer lives on until at least November and we have so much summer and beach days left with Sebastian and Elijah before baby #3 gets here.

If you’ve been around for a while, then you know how much we love being a part of the Charlie Banana family. Charlie Banana is top of the line when it comes to cloth diapers and eco friendly baby living; but did you know they also make the softest and most amazing swimwear for kids too? Made with the softest, most absorbant materials, our CB reusable cloth diapers and swim shirts made summer fun and so easy for the boys to enjoy the beach and pool days.

I remember the first time I put Sebastian in his new Charlie Banana Swim Rashguard UPF50+ shirt. He said “Mommy, this feels so good!” — it made my heart smile. Serious mom win, am I right? The CB Rash Guards come with Charlie Banana's signature' softness, helps protect the boy’s skin from the sun, and care for our planet. Another mom win! The built-in UPF50+ sun protection was a no brainer when I realized it kept Sebastian cool and comfortable for longer days building sandcastles in the sun.

Can you even handle that man bun? I keep meaning to take him in for a haircut then I see pictures like this and just can’t pull the trigger. Future surfer kid, anyone? Life on the coast has sure been fitting for our two little curly haired boys.

Did you melt a little inside at this picture of Elijah? Cause I sure do! I might be a little bias, but dang he’s a cutie. Sweet Eli has always been our wild, adventure seeking little man. He is 100% in his element when he’s around salty air and sandy beaches. He goes head first (literally) into mouth fulls of sandy snacks the second his toes touch the coastal waters. I couldn’t imagine him any other way.

BUT, I would be lying if I said taking toddlers to the beach was a breeze. Like, a big big liar. Is it always worth it—yes! However, can it also be tiring, all consuming and messy? YES! Especially with your wild ones. If you know, you know, mama!

One thing that relieves a lot of that messiness and pressure is having Charlie Banana by our side. I feel confident and safe that the boys are always protected in their swimwear, and a huge bonus are all the accessories that help keep us organized as family and make post-sandy days a lot less messy for everyone. Are we the only ones who look like chickens with our heads cut off trying to change toddlers in the back seat? Wrangling two toddlers out of sandy, wet clothes and back into car seats for the ride home feels like a true parent test of patience.

Our wet/dry bags (in different sizes!) are absolutely perfect for wipes, diapers, pacis, sunscreen. It’s endless! Wet or dry, I know that everything we throw in our little bags won’t get sandy and wet as we enjoy our day. I carry around several of these small wet dry bags with me everywhere I go (even in my purse) and it’s nice to know I don’t have to waste plastic sandwich bags like I used too. Saving the planet, one fun day at the beach at a time.

Remember the days of throwing all those gross and wet towels, swimsuits and and sunscreen covered clothes into the trunk and worrying about it “later”? Just us? Charlie Banana solved that problem with their larger laundry wet dry pails that are PERFECT for this exact situation. I always take one of these larger pails with me to the beach, pool and water parks. I pack them with all our clean towels & change of clothes for the whole family and when it’s time to switch out, we have the perfect place to throw all the dirty, wet laundry in before heading home. Easy peasy! That way, when we get home, the bag goes straight to the laundry and saves us soooo much hassle of a messy, sandy car and smelly wet clothes, keeping wetness, smells and messes on lockdown.

Can we talk about all these adorable patterns though? Sebastian calls this one his “yummy donuts bag” and it just doesn’t get any cuter.

Family beach days can be hectic and crazy. The sun makes us all little wacky by the end of the day and before you know it, you’re begging for a shower and take out dinner. But the Briscoe-Baez family sure is enjoying this new adventure on the coast. Having the beach minutes from home has been life changing. Turns out, that although Atlanta will always be home — Coastal Georgia has welcomed us with open arms and hearts. We traded in I-285 traffic for salty hair and endless summers and we coulnd’t be happier.

What are some ways you stay mess free and organized during water-filled summer days? Did you and your family get a chance to hit the beach this summer? We sure hope you did!
