FREE IG Audit Checklist & Preventing Content Burnout
You’ve been there. I know you have— because I have too. The panic sets and you start “trigger posting”. Posting old content or random captions “just for the sake of it”, or feeling deflated by the pressures of coming up with new content enough to trick yourself into thinking “a couple weeks off won’t hurt.” I know, girl. We’ve all been there.
You wear all the different hats in your business. Mom, wife, meal planner, laundry folder, Photogropher, content creator, social manager, student, brand negotiator— you do it all. All before bed time. At the beginning of every month you promise yourself “you’ll be better about posting more consistently” and the next thing you know—its 2020.
The burn out sets in and now you’re convincing yourself you’re “in a rut” or “needing a break”.
Heres the tough truth—its not a break you need. It’s guidance, it’s accountability—it’s a helping hand.
Worse case sencario— you fall out of love with content creating. Best case, you kick yourself into gear and decide that investing a little time and money into something you hold true to your heart ends up being exactly what you’re needing— not a “break from social media” like you thought.
Burn out happens when there is a lack of organization, you feel overwhelmed and unmotivated and the pressure to perform sets in. With clear cut guidance, action plans and manageable and attainable goals, your lack of organization turns into more aligned and intentional production and content you’ll quickly fall back in love with. (And content your audience and brands will fall in love with too—talk about a return on those investments!)
The secret here isn’t really a secret at all. It’s all in your content strategy. How you plan, prep and post your content is an art in itself. Understanding your analytics and knowing how and when change is needed will have you seamlessly creating content that your audience actually wants to see and you won’t be wracking your brain to produce. Remember that the whole point of content creation is to dish up content that is helpful, builds relationships & drives the engagement that leads to growth. (This is the part coaching comes in handy!)
Understanding the Why, If, and What questions of your platforms will be what ultimately helps you to create a plan for the future. In order to identify the good, the bad and the ugly of your content—you need to evaluate the patient. That is— your full account.
When I first take on a new client, my first course of action is a quick platform audit. Before I even enter into our first coaching call—I have evaluated your content, captions, stories, bio, blog, hashtags & engagement. How do I do this? By taking a closer look into your audience and what you’re audience is looking for based on responses and engagement and taking a deeper dive into all those little details you might think don’t make a difference (and really do!)
I call tell if you’re buying likes, I can tell if comments are from pods and engagement groups, I can tell when your post went viral through hashtags and if your process of content creation is working or not. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Once I get my hands on your analytics and stats— now we get to the nitty gritty. Sound like a doozy? Not to burst your bubble but— brands evaluate all these things as well.
The best part of these types of audits is, it allows for us to have clear and direct communication on where we want to head— nail down the direction of your little corner of the Internet in a way that produces actual results. Those suggestions and audit results are then turned into actions plans. Much like your doctor knows what to look for in your yearly exam— I have the experience to pinpoint the issues that you might have never even thought of!
